Ring Rolling Forging Process
The Ring Rolling Forging Process involves cutting the material according to the size before it is rounded to the open die press. The rounded pieces are then pierced for performing. They look like a donut-shaped forging that is ready to be placed on a ring rolling mill.
The axial rolls on the ring rolling mills help to control the height of the ring. There is also an idler roll which applies the needed pressure to the ring against the drive roll. The pressure created by these helps in reducing the wall thickness and height, along with increasing the diameter of the ring simultaneously. This is performed till the ring achieves its desirable diameter.
